What happens when Momma's sick...

As you all know, I have been recovering from getting my tonsils out. I had them out the Wednesday before school started. Zachary's teacher had requested we write her a letter to help her get to know Zachary and the needs he may have. I was still very loopy from my medicine so I asked Dave to handle the letter.
I really should have taken a medicine-dazed attempt at the letter, because this is what Mrs. Ogden got instead:

Ms. Ogden,
Since Michelle is sick, its up to Zach’s dad to write the letter you requested. We are all excited Zachary will be in your class this year. In cub scouts, you may have already discovered Zach’s intelligence is only eclipsed by his appetite. He is an amazing reader and a good student.
Because learning usually is easy for him, he tends to be sloppy in his work. He often needs to be encouraged to slow his brain down so his handwriting can catch up. We’ve also noticed he is easily frustrated when challenged with new ideas and experiences. His emotional maturity is often far behind his educational maturity.
Regardless, we would encourage you to challenge him throughout the upcoming year. A previous teacher realized he had exceeded standards in all subjects and had him just draw pictures quietly in class for the final two months of that grade. We welcome your suggestions to help him remain interested and engaged through the end of the school year and beyond.
As a final warning and request, Zach -- like many other brilliant minds -- sometimes looses awareness of his appearance. Particularly his pants tend to fall well below a decent height, and he can be rather messy when eating. A gentle nudging and reminder is usually all that is required. Hopefully you will be spared any graphic “lunar” displays.
